Full run down on happenings in the seminar area

And there is more….
We have a Seminar Room,

What have we on here?
And how does it work?

Those with VIP Passes or Access All Area Passes have access to this section of the event. Our seminar room has theatre style seating for 120 delegates to sit in and watch and , of course, interact as well. The seminars should be interactive, ask the questions, all the little details. The speakers are just your aunty….

The exact timetable** is in the centre section n of this catalogue, here we will touch on what you might expect from the speakers.

We really have a weekend of excellent speakers and some Grooming Gold on offer!!

Saturday AM
9am -12pm   Barbara Prueckel  we kick off our mini seminar weekend with a full on 3 hour session with a world renowned groomer, just check out her bio in this catalogue! Barbara, who joins us all the way from Canada, will start with one of her most famous seminars…‘Ignite Your Passion, Unleash your Potential’. This seminar centres on exploring the areas of self esteem, grooming skills and tips on growing successful businesses. When she has blown our minds with all that we then we have 2 very lucky groomers who have prepared their dogs for trimming and will receive a coaching session from Barbara. As spectators we get to ask all the questions, learn new approaches and the technical details of our art. The dogs being worked on may not seem to be representative of anything that walks into your salon BUT the clipping techniques, scissoring and shaping according to the dogs confirmation is the difference between a general groom and a WOW groom and ties in beautifully with the seminar Barbara started her session with.
Saturday PM
2pm - 330pm     Jim Stephens brings his expertise on Safe Handling and Animal Ethics in the Salon. Jim has a fascinating insight into all things canine and I suspect that an hour and a 15 minutes will be only the tip of the iceberg on what we could spend an entire day discussing. He is ‘animal behaviour royalty’, a specialist in dog and cat behaviour problems and particularly children and dogs. As he is currently working on welfare and ethics with the kennel club he is especially interested in the approach to this with dog owners.

3.45pm -5.45pm  Joanne Angus  performs a Demonstration  for us on a Miniature Schnauzer with a clip and scissor trim. Joanne , another person of grooming gold standard, is amazing to watch with these precise type of trims and demystifies and uncomplicates the trim. We have had so many years of mixed breed trimming it is interesting to see the popularity swing back around to full breeds and the desire of the public to have them looking like they should do. With every style there is a technique and trim lines to learn and follow and Joanne will show you how easy a trim a schnauzer can be.

Sunday AM
9am-11am Stuart Simons performs a Demonstration for us on a  Cockerpoo . Apparently a favourite dog of his to demonstrate on, hopefully the Irish cockerpoo experience doesn’t change his mind!! What a guy to kick off a Sunday morning. Another captivating groomer, famous for television appearances and passionate about promoting our industry. Stuart was instrumental in the Pooch Perfect show we all saw our local lass Tanya Salas and home boy Michael Sheils appear in. One of Stuarts specialities is in the realm of creative grooming so I guess that makes him Creative gold!!

11.15- 12.45pm  Dr Lawrence Woods, he is all about The  Creaks and Cracks in Groomers Bodies.
We all spend a fortune on the tools of our industry…the best scissors, fancy tables, latest dryers and those terribly expensive brushes all to try to make our lives easier. One ‘tool’ we seem to neglect the most, hesitate to spend money on and expect the most out of is our poor body! Just think for a moment…..can any of the equipment you have in your salon function on it’s own? Without you picking it up? Your body is the tool in the salon that everything relies on at the end of the day, everything else in the salon is an accessory. Just like every other piece of equipment in the salon your body needs a maintenance plan to keep it working well for you.       Lawrence has been working with many of our groomers over the past few years and he knows only too well what pretzels we are as a result of our work. Definitely one not to miss!!

Sunday PM

2pm - 5pm      Olga Zabelinskaya   performs a Demonstration for us on a Maltese and of course it is an asian inspired style.
Olga joins us from New Jersey, more grooming gold and ,again, another bio to read in awe. Don’t forget, Olga is bringing her Zolita scissors for us to try and buy if you like.
Once she has finished the maltese we then have two lucky people who will receive a coaching session from Olga on their own dogs. Such an awesome opportunity to be part of an actual coaching session without travelling to the US. This is another exciting opportunity to learn the exact details in real time on real dogs. What maybe on the tables may not be what you have in your salon but they all have body, head, four legs and most have tails and there will be elements that will help an approach or improve a finish.
